Easter 2014

Happy Easter!
It's finally spring and I brought the chalkboard back out!  What a perfect first message!  Our day was full of celebration.  The kids got their Easter baskets as soon as they woke up!

Baby enjoying her goodies!

Then we headed to church.  The kids had an Easter egg hunt right after the service, Kendall's first one!

Every time Colson picked up an egg he would say "I the winner!"

Livi taking off after the eggs in her pink dress!

As good as it gets with the 3 of them at this point!
Right after the egg hunt we started towards Starved Rock for brunch with my family.  We met my mom and dad, Chris, Anne, Finn, Shane, my Aunt Martha and Uncle Dan, my cousin Christy and her husband Joe, my Uncle Mark and my Great Aunt Vi and Uncle Wally.  I don't get to see my "Chicago family" as much these days and it was so nice to get to spend some time with them!

My beautiful girls
Colson is into pictures with his "scary face"-he's killing me!

Papa, Nana and grandkids
We left Starved Rock right before 3 and drove home to go to Alan's parents house....we were all exhausted already!

We did another egg hunt at Mamaw and Papaw's house, but these two were over it!  I wish I had a picture, but they just rode the gator all around the yard while the other kids found the eggs :)  We did Easter baskets and had dinner too.  The kids then all went on a real gator ride with Papaw and then Kendall was Papaw's buddy because he was outside.  Baby girl is obsessed with being "outsiii"  :)

We had a great day with family! I love being able to celebrate holidays with the ones we love <3

Colson-isms

Colson has been so funny lately!  He has always been "fickle".  He likes things how he likes them and will let you know in no uncertain terms if you haven't done whatever it is 'his way'.  But lately, he's been a little more easy going and so happy!  I love seeing him this way, it makes my heart happy for him :)

He is at such a fun age- I LOVE 3 1/2!  Don't get me wrong, he's ornery a lot-but that smile, oh we fall for it most every time.  3 1/2 year olds just say whatever is on their minds.  A couple of weeks ago, we met my mom and dad for dinner.  My mom walked into Steak N Shake and she had just gotten her hair cut.  It was very curly and Colson said "Whoa Nana, your hair is cwazy!  You need to get anodder hair cut!"  He wasn't intentionally being mean, just his honest little self :)

After bath tonight, Kendall was running around naked and CRAZY and peed on the carpet (of course).  Colson said to me "Kendall needs a diaper to catch her pees!"  :)

We were out to dinner and Cole was talking about how we were the only family with a baby.  Alan asked him "Is Kendall going to be our baby forever?"  Cole replied "Yep and I always be your big boy" <3

Whenever he talks about Alan to me, he refers to him as "my Daddy".  He makes me laugh every day!  I know he has to grow up, but I sure do love him at this age!

Spring Break 2014

Bleh...more like semi-winter break!  Livi's spring break started on March 20th and went through the 30th.  The weather was still yucky :(  We started out by visiting my BU friends at Jonna's house the first weekend.  As always, we had a great time!  We missed Kathy this time though because she moved to California :(

Alyvia, Addison and Evie performing "Let It Go" from Frozen
Austen, Nolan and Colson-such good lookin' boys!
We didn't have a lot planned for the next week, which was good because I got sick Tuesday and felt crummy through the rest of the week.  I came home from work Tuesday evening though and this is what I found...
Colson told me "be quiet because me and daddy are doing work.  We are looking at corn pictures"  I love that he shares his daddy's passion (and so does his daddy!).  We were supposed to have a playdate on Wednesday, but I had to cancel.  So after work, Alan took the big kids to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman.  It was fun daddy time for them!
Thursday Colson had school, the girls and I ran some quick errands in town and stopped at McDonalds for breakfast.
Of course we had to play a little too!
I finally felt well enough to go do something Friday, so we headed to Monkey Joes, an inflatables play place.  It's not my favorite place to go and last time Colson would have NOTHING to do with playing, but these happy faces made it worthwhile!

Alyvia and Colson jumped in every bounce house and Kendall drank almost my entire soda-happy campers!  It was so great to have Alyvia home for the week.  I'm pretty sure that she is the best big sister ever!  She plays with Cole all day long, pretty much letting him be the boss at all times (so he doesn't lose it!).  She watches Kendall for me so I can take a shower, do laundry, make dinner, etc.  She's so incredibly helpful and I love having her home with us!  I will send her back to school though, I mean, it is the law!  Summer break will be here before we know it though and she'll be back with us-hopefully the weather will be warm by then!!
