Mama's new toy!

Today we said "good bye" to our trusty old friend the Envoy.  It was 9, almost 10, years old and was with us for the last 7 years.  Alan and I brought 2 babies home from the hospital safely strapped in to this car.  It was a good car and I was a little sad to part

BUT, we said "hello" to our new and much prettier friend, the Traverse!  And a pretty things always make a sad day a little (or much) better!

I'm loving having a nice, new (to me) vehicle.  Alyvia thinks that it's a 'ban' (van) so she is super happy too!  So farewell, Enny Envoy-we wish you safe travels!  Happy belated birthday to me!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Last minute this morning, I decided to take the kids to the Santa parade downtown.  It was a little chillier than I had expected and the parade was loooooong.  BUT the kids had a fun time, we got an AWESOME parking spot and I'm so glad we got up and went!  We didn't do any "black Friday" shopping, but I think this was better :)

"You better watch out, you better not cry"......hope they remember this!

Christmas Spirit

I know it's really dark, but she's so excited for Christmas that she slept in her Santa hat!  Love this girl.

Do you see what I see?

The answer is yes!  Alyvia has been complaining that her eye hurts, especially at night time.  I mentioned this to her pediatrician and he referred us to the eye doctor.  Today was her appointment.  She did really good and wasn't afraid of anything, such a brave girl always!  A technician did some vision testing first, she had to wear some funny glasses :)

Then she had to get her eyes dilated so the doctor could do her exam.  She didn't like when she couldn't see very well, but she was such a trooper.  Everything looked fine, the doctor just wants to check her vision one more time in January.  After the appointment we went to lunch with Nana.  On the way there Alyvia said "I bet Nana will be so sad that I can't see"-she is so funny!  Luckily, her eyes got better on the way to lunch so nobody had to be sad for too long!!

Deck the Halls

The kids and I decorated for Christmas today!  It's a little early, but I work next weekend and we're busy the weekend after that, so today it was.  Alyvia was SO excited to decorate and she was actually a good helper.  Colson tried very hard to not break anything :)

I love when the house is all Christmas-y, it makes me so happy!

RRRRRROAR!!!

Hopefully this video posts.  Alyvia and Colson have a new game that they play together.  Colson hides and Alyvia scares him and yells-great fun!  He loves it though and she loves to make him laugh :)

Setting the table

I actually decided to make dinner at home tonight (shocking, I know).  Alyvia was my big helper and she offered to set the table for me.  She did it all by herself and did such a great job! I was so impressed her, she never fails to amaze me-even at the little things.

Cupcake Cuties

It was Alyvia's turn to bring snack to preschool today.  She loves when it's her turn to bring snack because she gets to be line leader and bring show and tell!  We decided to make cupcakes this morning before school.  Somebody got a little greedy while sister and I were frosting cupcakes.....little thief!

Alyvia did such a good job helping me!  She was so proud of the cupcakes we made together!

Go BU!

Tonight was our first Bradley basketball game of the 2011-2012 season!  We were so excited for the Bradley season to begin.  We have a new coach this year and we are hopeful that we're going to have a good year!

My guys-Cole was excited...at first anyhow!
Mmmm, dippin' dots-the best part of the game for the kids!
The kids were both tired at the game.  Cole was starting to get sick too.  On a positive note, Bradley did win-unfortunately I didn't see much of the game.  It's definitely harder taking both kids to the game, especially since Cole is SO BUSY these days!  We're going to have to come up with a different plan for any other games if we take both kids...we'll see I guess!

Little boys and their toys

This is what little boys end up playing with when they've spent too much time with their mommy lately

Daddy, please stop farming so much....I need some boy time!
