A Visit With My BU Girls

This past Saturday we drove up to Jonna and Shad's new house for a visit.  It's so fun to get together with these girls (and their families).  We have been friends for 15 years!!!  It seems like just yesterday that we were all at BU together having such a fun time :)  I love that we don't have to have an activity planned, we just hang out (drink a bit of wine) and catch up on our lives.  It's relaxed and fun and perfect.  It's even better that our kids are the same age and play together too!  We're already making plans for May and right now it's a "girls only" date-woo hoo!

Colson was into tackling anybody!

Birthday Bonanza!

We have had LOTS of birthdays this month!  We were supposed to have 2 birthdays on the 3rd, but one got cancelled because of sickness :(  We were still able to go to Landrie and Channing's birthday party at Fondulac farm park.  The kids had a lot of fun!  Considering Landrie's mom just had a baby 9 DAYS before the party, it was a great place to host it and have somebody else do most of the work :)

We started out with cake and ice cream

Then we got to go around the farm park and feed the animals
Colson wasn't too sure about feeding the animals at first!

Alyvia & her friend Lizzie jumped right in!
She works on the farm regularly!

Playground fun to wrap up the party!

Then today we celebrated our friends Lawson and Ethan's 1st birthdays at Danielle's house.  We had lunch, opened presents and then played outside!

Emme, Sienna, Channing, Livi and Cole

Landrie and Reese join in on the fun

Colson played a little tee ball

And the birthday boys thoroughly enjoyed their cake!

We are thankful to have so many friends to celebrate with and have fun!  We are looking forward to many more playdates this summer!

Fashion and Fun

Alyvia had her friend Alexis over after school today.  She has been set on wearing her St. Patrick's day shirt lately and I have no idea why.  I was able to talk her into not wearing it for school, but immediately when she got home she ran upstairs and changed.  THIS is what she put on- an Alyvia Original Ensemble..

Wow-that's about all I can say!  BUT, my friend Christel said "What's important is that she is owning her look".  I agree 100%.  She owns it, she loves it and she feels good about herself in that outfit.  I hope she's always so sure of herself, in everything she does.  That's something I have always struggled with and I hope with all my heart that she does not.  So I am going to support her choices (with in reason) and try to foster that self confidence within her.  I just hope her fashion sense develops quickly, I had a hard time loving this ensemble!

Christmas break fun!

We had a Christmas break play date today.  Alyvia has been dying to go to Monkey Joes and I thought it would be fun while all the big kids are still in school.  So we invited Reagan, Rylie, Lizzie and our friend Alexis to join us.  It was a great day to go, there were probably only 10 other kids in the whole place.  The girls had lots of fun!

Colson likes to sit while Alyvia jumps-he says "jump, jump, jump" (in his own language of course!).  After  playing we went to lunch at Avantis with Kristin and Lizzie

Colson was his usual self out to eat...not very good.  We still had fun though and we hope Kristin and Lizzie will try to go to lunch with us again!  After lunch we still had lots to do!  The kids had hair appointments with Aunt Kelly.  Alyvia decided that she wanted her hair cut short "like Lizzie's".  I wasn't sure and her daddy said absolutely NO but....

Well, she usually gets what she wants :)  It looks really cute though and I'm glad we let her cut it.  My newly coiffed little family

Wildlife Scary Park

Tonight Alyvia, Colson and I met Kristin and Lizzie at Wildlife Prairie Park for "(not-so) Scary Park"!

My "bad-evil" witch
The kids all put on their Halloween costumes and we walked through the woods over the scary troll bridge, took a "spooky" train ride, saw part of a magic show and then took a hay rack ride to trick-or-treat!  I have some more pictures on my camera and hope to post them later!!  The kids had lots of fun and got a good start to the Halloween weekend!
