One Year Check Up

Kendall finally had her one year check up yesterday (her pediatrician was out of town last week).  She is 20 lbs. 3 oz. (54th %) and 29.72 inches long (65th %).  She has grown so much!  Looking back at her 2 month check up, she was in the 20th % for weight and only 0.97th % for height!
Kendall hates the doctors office.  She starts crying the minute the nurse or doctor come anywhere near her.  Not just wimpering, full blown screaming with real tears (even though I'm holding her).  Luckily, brother was at school so I could focus all my energy on Kendall.....I was sweatin' bullets by the time we got out of there!
Me?  This sweet face?...yep, don't let her fool ya!
Good news is, she is doing great and is completely healthy :)  She is doing so many new things!  She pulls up on anything and everything and cruises really well.  She loves to pull up on people and then let go and stand all by herself.  Then instead of walking, she just falls into you!

Falling while I tried to take pictures, eyes closed with complete trust that I'll catch her :)
She is starting to talk a lot too.  She says mama, dada, sissy, dog, uh-oh, bye bye, ba ba and she loves to scream with Colson!  She pretty much has given up most baby food and eats what we eat.  I do still try to give her baby food veggies to keep her diet a little healthier.  Her favorite foods are peas, any sort of bread, pasta and Mexican rice (the girl devours it!).  She drinks water and juice from a big girl cup with meals but still loves her bottles before nap and bedtime.   Her naps are changing :(  She is still a good morning napper (although as I'm typing she is talking in her bed and hasn't napped!).  Her afternoon nap is shorter if at all.  So sad we seem to be ending the 2 nap phase.  She is mostly happy, especially at home.  She will immediately cry if I walk away from her though-no matter where we are.  She is allowed to wander from me, but I better not move...especially to change laundry, wash dishes, make lunch/dinner, etc.  Oh Kendall!

This sweet girl loves to "give love".  She leans her head into yours <3  She's a little ornery too.  Colson is so easily riled up and I believe she has figured that out.  She will merely touch his hair and he hollers and she just smiles from ear to ear!   They do play together nicely sometimes though :)

She already looks up to her sissy so much and still lights up when she sees Alyvia.  They often hold hands in the car when we pick Livi up from school.

We can't believe you are one already and we know time will only go faster from here.  We can't wait to see what your next year brings and watch as your little personality keeps growing.  We love you so Baby <3

Kendall 11 Months

Miss Kendall turned 11 months on October 6th!

One year ago we were excitedly anticipating her arrival, it seems just like yesterday.  I can't believe we are going to be celebrating her birthday in 3 weeks!
Kendall you continue to be such a good baby girl.  You are growing so fast!  You wear size 12 months clothes and a size 4 diaper.  Your feet are still tiny!  Size 3 shoes fit, but they fall off a lot :)  You actually rarely wear shoes, but since you want to get down constantly now when we are out, you have to get used to shoes!
You aren't walking yet, but you pull up on everything this past week!  Good thing Daddy got the baby gate up at the stairs :)  Your crazy crawling method is effective for you, but it's so funny.  Still pushing off with your right foot and dragging your left leg, silly girl!

You still eat baby food, but you definitely seem to want our food if we are eating too.  No teeth, but you get everything mashed up with those gums of yours!

You still take 2 naps a day (when our schedule allows!) and sleep about 12 hours a night.  You have a bottle before every nap and at bedtime.  You are playing a little more independently now that you can get around by yourself, which gives mommy some time not entertaining you!  You still don't like us to be out of sight though when you play and you definitely have some stranger danger.  The dogs make you so excited and you wave your arms and says some sort of word every time you see them!  Livi and Colson always make you smile when you see them too :)

We can't wait to celebrate your 1st year next month, we love you so much Kendall!

10 months

Double digits already?!  Sweet baby girl turned 10 months old on the 6th.  She'll be 1 in two short months.  She is growing up so fast.
Our baby girl is still not crawling, but she is trying to stand up!  She actually pulled up herself on the 7th while we were visiting Mamaw and Papaw.  Her little legs are still pretty wobbly, but she is practicing her best.  When she's sitting, she leans over like she's going to crawl, but she can't quite get up on her knees.  She might be one that goes straight to walking!
Her other first this month is an ear infection, bilateral actually :(  She was still smiling through it though.  A full day of antibiotics and she's already on the mend!
She's eating more and more table food, but still eats her baby food every meal too.  She finally figured out sippy cups too, although figuring out how to spill them is even more fun :)  Miss Kendall still is sleeping great too.  Goes to bed around 7 and sleeps until after 7 (usually!).  She takes a morning and afternoon nap too....although her sister's school and extra curricular activity schedule is messing with her afternoon nap :(
Her personality is shining through even more.  Still low key, still so happy, but she does seem to like to mess with her big brother.  If she can get her little paws on him or his blanket, she's all about it!  And oh does it make him mad, which makes her smile.  He calls her "naughty baby!"-ha!

We love you baby girl!  You are our sunshine each and every day.

Our Baby Girl is 9 months old!

Sweet baby girl is 9 months old!  Mommy isn't a very good photographer apprently since I didn't get the whole sign in the picture :)  You are still the sweetest baby girl ever.  We go to the doctor tomorrow and we will see how big you are.  You are definitely continuing to grow like a bad weed!  You wear 9 month clothes and even fit into some 12 month stuff!  You are eating more and more table food, but you still don't have any teeth so it makes this mommy very nervous.

You are still pretty easy going, BUT you have decided that sitting and playing without daddy or me is over rated.  We must be sitting next to you or you will cry :(  We recently tried putting you in the walker though and that seems to keep you happy (for now).  It took you about 2 days to learn how to make it go forward-FAST!  We had to put up the baby gate blocking the stairs to the garage door :)  No crawling, yet.  You lean forward from sitting and try to get on your knees, but you fall on your tummy.  I know you will be mobile on your own soon!

It's hard to believe we're already starting to plan your 1st birthday party!  Love you lots baby girl, don't get too big too quickly!

Kendall is 8 Months Old!

This beauty is 8 months old already!  She is the most precious baby :)  Alan and I keep saying we "hit the baby jackpot"!  She is laid back, sweet, easy going and to top it all off, she's absolutely adorable!

She weighs about 18 lbs. now and wears size 9 months clothes, this girl has done a lot of growing in the past 2-3 months!  Her feet are still tiny, I really never put shoes on her though!  I tried to buy her a pair of cute summer sandals in June, size 6-9 months and they are still HUGE on her.  Oh well.
She eats so well now!  She has baby food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and still takes bottles before naps and bedtime.  We are working on a sippy cup still, it's been hard to figure out without getting too sloppy :)  She still takes 2 good naps a day, morning and afternoon and is in bed around 7:30.  She wakes up with the biggest smile on her little face around 6:15 in the morning.....wish we could get that a bit later :)  But who can be mad at this face?!
The most exciting thing this baby girl is doing now though is saying her first word...."Mama" <3  Now it sometimes actually means "momma" but it also means "I want something that I see" :)  It's still sweet to hear though!

Kendall we all love you so much!  Alyvia and Colson love that you are interacting with them more and more.  Colson is already very protective of you.  When you cry in the car, he holds your hand and tells you it's okay.  He always makes sure you are coming with us wherever we go, we can't leave his "baby".  He is so sweet with you!  Alyvia loves her baby sister and still always gets the biggest smiles from you.  Whenever she walks into the room, you light up!  You guys already have a special "sister bond".  I can't believe that you are close to one year old.  I love watching you grow, but I'm sad you are not a little baby anymore.  As you get big, I hope you are always as happy and loving as you are right now, you are too precious!

Kendall is 7 months old!

7 months!  This sweet baby girl is getting so big.  She is honestly the happiest baby...90% of the time :)  She is sleeping so well and sleeping in her crib, finally!  After Livi got done with school, "Operation move baby into her own bed" began.  She did so well.  We had to "plug her in" (with her pacifier) a couple of times around 4 in the morning, but now she is sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night!  Yay Kendall!
She has finally figured out eating too.  She now eats fruit & rice cereal for breakfast, fruit & veggies for lunch and a baby food dinner & rice cereal for dinner.  She has bottles before nap and bedtime too.  She has a hard time eating when she's not home.  In a restaurant, forget it!  Way too much to see to spend time eating :)   She has grown like a bad weed the last 2 months too.  She now wears 6-9 month clothes and some of her 6 month clothes are getting too small :(  I think she wears a size 2-3 shoe, but she really never wears shoes yet!

Miss Kendall love toys and she will sit on the floor with a pile of toys or her play mat and just occupy herself for quite awhile.  She definitely plays with toys a lot more than Livi or Cole did.  She still doesn't like to be on her tummy much, so I don't see crawling in her near future!  Mommy's o.k. with that though ;)

Kendall, you truly are the sweetest girl and we love you so much!  I'm so curious as to how you will be when you get older.  I hope you are still our laid back & super loving baby girl!  We love you so much!

1/2 Birthday!

Miss Kendall is 6 months old!

And could she be any more beautiful?!  This baby.....I want to eat her up!  We went to her pediatrician appointment today and she weighs 15 lbs. 10 oz. (40th percentile) and 26 1/2 inches (71st percentile!).  This girl is growing!  She still takes mostly bottles, but is finally starting to really like eating baby food.  She eats cereal and fruit in the morning and cereal and veggies at dinner.  We've started to try a sippie cup and she is catching on to it too!

Big girl is sleeping better and better each month (knock on wood!).  She goes to bed around 9 pm and gets up around 6:30 am (waaay too early for this mommy).  She is doing so much better not waking up and needing her paci during the night.  I finally got her on somewhat of a napping schedule too.  She eats her breakfast at 8:30 and then takes a small bottle before morning nap.  She usually sleeps 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the morning.  Then after lunch, she naps again but that nap is usually shorter.  We're getting there for sure!

Sissy is rolling both ways, although she still doesn't really like to be on her tummy :)  She is starting to sit up too, for a couple minutes she can balance....as long as she's not distracted or surprised!  My favorite new things she does though, is "give love".  She grabs your face with her chubby little hands (and sometimes her sharp little nails) and pulls you to her.  She burries her face in your cheek and gives baby love.  It's so very sweet <3.
We love you baby girl!  You are the happiest baby (most of the time) and you complete our family in every way!

5 months

Our baby girl is 5 months old!  The time just keeps going faster and faster.  Our girl is so happy these days and we couldn't love her anymore!

Miss Kendall is sleeping through the night fairly consistently.  We wake her up most nights to eat between 9 and 10 pm and she sleeps until 6-7 am.  We tried letting her sleep from 7:30 one night last week-BIG  mistake!  Baby girl was up at 3:30 to eat that morning-oops :)  She still needs to be swaddled and 'plugged in' with her pacifier to sleep and I have to do that between 3 and 4 most mornings.  She is still in our room too.  She is too restless to sleep in big sister's room yet, hopefully sometime soon!  Definitely this summer, when Alyvia doesn't have to be up for school in the morning.

We have just recently starting adding rice cereal to Kendall's formula.  She was spitting up constantly, from the time she ate until her next bottle :(   She was also refluxing in the middle of the night and gasping, which scared me.  The rice cereal seemed to be working last week, but now she is spitting up quit a bit again the last couple of days.  She has a little cold and we're hoping that it's the reason, otherwise we might have to try medicine.  We've been giving her oatmeal in the evening.  She isn't too excited about it yet, but she's getting better at not spitting it all out of her mouth!

No rolling over or sitting up yet.  She is rolling onto her side, but not quite onto her belly.  When you hold her, it better be sitting up or standing, no more laying down like a little baby or she'll let you hear about it!  She is starting to pull everything towards her mouth, other people's fingers are her favorite to munch on (ewww, I know).

We love having this baby in our lives...it's so hard to imagine she wasn't here just a couple months ago.  Even for her brother.  He doesn't interact with her too much, but he won't leave anywhere without her.  "Momma's baby" he tells everyone <3  We love her so much!

Kendall is 4 months old!

Happy 4 months Kendall!  You are such a happy girl these days :)  You smile SO big when you see your daddy or me and we LOVE it!
Colson and I took you to your pediatrician on the 7th.  You now weigh 13 lbs and are 24 inches long.  You
have jumped to the 20th percentile for height, good growing baby girl!  The doctor said we could try to start some solid foods, so that evening we tried oatmeal for the first time...
I was pretty sure you weren't going to care very much and you didn't.  We'll keep trying though and I'm sure you'll learn to eat "big girl" food soon :)  You are finally eating 5 oz. bottles (usually, sometimes you still stop after 4 oz.).  You seem to be growing well though, so I'm trying not to obsess about your eating!
You are much more alert this past month.  If we are out somewhere you don't eat very well because you're too busy watching everything else!  Your little hands are trying to grab at things, but you're just figuring it out.  You go to bed between 10 and 11 at night and get up between 6 and 7.  I usually have to "plug you in" with your pacifier once or twice or night still.  I hope to get you in your own crib soon, but I'm afraid you'll wake up Alyvia in the middle of the night!  You rolled over right after you turned 3 months old, but now you seem to have forgotten how, silly girl :)
You are growing so fast lately.  Gone is our little baby who just melted into us, but your beautiful little personality is really shining through and that is so exciting to see!  We love you Kendall Ashway and hope you are always such a happy little girl <3

Kendall is 3 months old!

Miss Kendall, how did you get to be 3 months old already?!

The past couple of weeks you have really started to develop a bigger personality!  You have definitely found your voice :)  You "talk" back to us when we talk to you now and you are getting LOUD when you want to be heard! You are also obsessed with having your hands in your mouth!

It was almost impossible to get a good picture of you without your hands in your face :)  You are smiling so much more now.  When I get home from work and you wake up and notice me, I get the biggest smiles from you.  It makes my heart so full <3

You were sleeping from about 11-5, but the last week or so you are getting up again between 2 and 4 to eat.  I think you must be having a growth spurt!  You are still only eating 4 ounces every feeding.  If we feed you more, you just spit up more :)

Every night after the "big" kids go to bed, we have our special Kendall time.  Daddy and I try to make sure you get held until we go to bed.  I love that time that we get to spend with just you.  You still like to cuddle and I'm trying to soak it in.

We love you Kendall Ashway!

Kendall is 2 months old!

This girl is 2 months old (on the 6th) and super cute!

Colson and I took her to the doctor  on Thursday, the 10th for her 2 month check up and her first immunizations :(

Kendall was screaming bloody murder during her shots and Colson was almost crying saying "baby hy, baby hy" (baby cry).  It was an event for sure :)  We all made it out of the doctors office though!  I am not a mom who cries when my baby gets shots.  I know they are for her benefit and I would most definitely cry if she got pertussis or something else that is preventable with vaccines.  Just sayin.  Anywho...Kendall had a perfect check up with Dr. G.  She is 10 lbs. 4 oz. and 21 inches long, the 20th percentile for weight and the 0.97th percentile for height, my little shortcake :)
Baby Kendall you are doing so great!  You still sleep quite a bit during the day, but are waking up a bit more to interact with us and "pay" as Colson says.  You eat 4 oz. every 3-4 hours during the day.  You still get up once a night, usually between 3 and 4 a.m.  You've been fussy (screaming/crying for about 15 minutes until you fall asleep) after your evening bottle so we are trying "gripe water" to see if that helps your tummy.  Most of the time though, you are so laid back and starting to be a happy baby.  We have to work for your smiles and they are nearly impossible to capture on the camera, but they are well worth it!

Kendall we love you so much and it's o.k. to stay little :)

Kendall is 1 month

Kendall is one month old today!  This beautiful baby has been a part of our lives for 4+ weeks now.

As you can tell, she was terribly excited about her 1 month birthday-ha!
Kendall, you are such a good baby (honestly!).  You eat 3oz. about every 3 hours during the day and sometimes do a 4-5 hour stretch at night.  I couldn't ask for much more when you are only 4 weeks old!  You still sleep A LOT!  Alyvia asks me quite a few times each week why you sleep so much :)  I know it's because you are busy growing....and maybe trying to ignore the craziness when your brother and sister are around!  Night time is Kendall time.  After we put Alyvia and Colson to bed, we try to make sure either daddy or I hold you.  You love to snuggle and lay on our chest to sleep.  You are very strong and you move your head around quite a bit!
You don't cry very much, just a little bit when you are waiting for a bottle and at bath time.  BUT, you are getting pretty loud when you do cry :)  You are such a perfect baby, not that I'm biased at all ;)  Alyvia and Colson love you so much.  Livi loves to hold you and pick out clothes for you to wear.  Colson likes to talk to you when you are awake and say "hi, hi, hi" :)  He has even started to ask where you are in the morning.  We all love you so much Kendall and it seems like you've always been here.  We love you so <3

One Year of Fun

Our baby boy is one.  I can't believe it's been a whole year since this baby boy joined our family.

Now he's this "big" boy and we couldn't imagine our family without him.

In the last 2 weeks you have learned all sorts of new "tricks".  On your birthday you learned how to go down the stairs (backwards) and how to say "yes" (although you haven't done that since).  You clap when we sing "If You're Happy and You Know It" :)

Your new word is "Uh-Oh" and you use it all the time.  Most of the time you throw things on the floor and then say uh-oh.  You are becoming very ornery!  You go up the 1st 3 stairs and yell "MA, MA, MA!" and as soon as I look you will start to go up the rest of the stairs as fast as you can!  You've also started to say "dada" too.  You always make car and tractor noises when you play.  And speaking of play-you play so nice by yourself.  You just motor around from toy to toy and keep busy.  You aren't walking independently yet, but you get more and more stable every day-I think by October you'll be running circles around us!

We just went to the doctor on the 21st and you are still growing along your same curve.  You weigh 21 pounds and are 29 inches long.  You wear 12 month clothes and most 18 month shirts fit too.  You wear a size 4 to 5 shoe.

We love you more than words Colson or Buster or Coley or Bussy or Buddy....whatever name we call you!  We love watching you grow "so big"!
