Apple Orchard & Farming with Daddy

After we picked Alyvia up from school today, we headed out to Tanner's Apple Orchard!  We started off in the store and sampled some yummy apple cider!

Then we ate some apple cider donuts too!

We took our purchases to the car and then we walked around outside and played for a bit.

We had a fun time and then we headed up to Bradford to see daddy for awhile.  We miss daddy so much when he's gone farming all week :(   The kids were super excited to see him!

Colson and I took a ride in the combine with Papaw while Daddy and Alyvia hauled a load of corn in the semi.  The kids and I headed home after our ride-a-longs and had pizza for dinner.  We had a fun afternoon and we can't wait until Daddy home with us more often!

Livi and I went to Naperville for my cousin Amy's wedding shower and Cole went to work with Daddy!

Sunday-we got up and went to church and then Livi and I went to our friend Lizzie's birthday party.  It was a yucky rainy day, but we had fun anyway!

Then we had to leave for a Snyder family picnic at Bradley park.  It rained more today than it has practically all summer!!  The kids obviously still had tons of fun :)

On Tuesday, Colson and I had a quiet day planned at home....but Daddy had other plans for us :)

 Poor Daddy got a bad burn on his hand while working :(  So Colson got to spend an impromptu couple of hours with Papa while daddy and I went to Prompt Care and picked up supplies to take care of Daddy's hand. 

We have an appointment next week with a hand surgeon to make sure that his hand is healing properly...

On Thursday, this cute boy hung out with Colson and I all day!

Poor guy had a fever the day before, so he came to Aunt Katie's instead of going to the babysitters.  He was so good, just had a yucky stuffy nose that made it hard to take a good nap.  I tried to get a picture of him and Colson together, but Cole kept telling me "doe!"

 

On Friday, Cole and I got to have a "Mommy & Colson Day".  I've been wanting to do something special with Colson since Livi started school-he doesn't get as much one on one time as she did.  So today, we went to the zoo!

My big guy and I got to see the baby tigers out playing!  They were cute, but not as cute as my little guy :)

After the zoo, we met Nana for lunch at Avanti's.  I had so much fun spending a couple hours having fun with my little boy :) 

We had a busy, busy week!  I'm sure it won't slow down much :)

Combining with Colson

Tonight we went over to Mamaw and Papaw's house for dinner.  We've been trying to go over there a couple of times a week to eat dinner with everyone and see daddy for a while since he's working looooong hours this time of year.  After dinner, Livi decided to go to "youf group" with Reagan and Rylie at the Methodist church in Laura and Cole got to take his very first combine ride with Papaw!

Daddy, Cole and Mommy went with Papaw!  Colson was mesmerized.  He sat still the entire time (which is a big thing if you know Colson) and just looked all around.  He loved when the combine unloaded into the auger wagon.  We only had about 15 minutes before we had to pick up Alyvia, but I think he may have sat there for an hour or more!  I think he may truly be a farm boy if ever there was one!

It's pickin' time!

Alyvia has been asking for the last 2 weeks when daddy was going to start picking corn.  Well he finally started last week and Alyvia got to go to the farm on Friday and ride with daddy.

 We packed up her snacks and drink after school and off she and daddy went to farm!

 
She loves to spend time with her daddy....and I think her daddy loves it too!

Daddy Day

Alyvia had another "daddy day" today.  This morning she was sure that she wanted to stay with me today. But mid-way through the morning, she decided that she wanted to go ride with her daddy again...in his "green bean tractor" (big green tractor).  While Colson was sleeping, Alyvia got changed into her work clothes and packed her lunch (FULL of food).  Once Colson woke up, we drove Livi out to the field to meet her daddy.  She grabbed her backpack, jumped out of the car and off she went...

This girl spent the WHOLE day farming with her daddy.  They field cultivated, worked in the shop, changed the oil in the tractor and made a trip to Kleines before they headed home.  While Livi and Daddy were hard at work, Colson and I went and spent money :)  We went to lunch with Nana and then Colson had his 7 month pictures, which turned out so cute! 

While waiting for his pics, we shopped a little bit and bought Aunt Anne's birthday present.  We ran to Target after the mall, because what is a trip to Peoria if you don't go to Target?!  Daddy and Livi met us at Kohls and then we all went to Olive Garden for dinner.  When we got home, it was bedtime-yay!  Good day all around!
