Lake of the Ozarks 2014

Each July we go on family vacation with my parents, my brothers, SIL and nephew.  We've gone to Lake Ozark, MO for many years and rented the same house for the last 4 years.  The only change this year was we stayed for 10 days instead of just 7-and it was fabulous!!  We took off from home the morning of the 2nd, boat in tow!

We stopped at Cracker Barrel for a yummy breakfast, it's always our first favorite part of vacation!

After Colson asked us roughly 500 times if we were there yet, he finally fell asleep about 1 hour before we got there!
 We arrived!!

We always put the boat in at the state park and then Alan takes it over to the rental house.  I was left to park the trailer all by myself this year-ahh!  I took a picture and texted it to Alan to make sure he thought it was okay :)
Once we finally got the boats to the house and the luggage unloaded, the babies were beat!

The view from our screened in porch....I'm relaxing just looking at it.

We had a quiet first day and the kids spent some time swimming in our cove.  Shane, Lindsey and my dad came that day too!  The 4th was our first day to really get out on the lake!  A friend posted her daughter's hairstyle that morning, so Livi and I recreated it-it turned out so cute!!

Then it was time to get out on the water!!!

We anchored in one of our favorite coves and did what we do best-NOTHING!  Lots of relaxing and floating, kids swimming....perfect vacation!  That evening we did sparklers on the driveway with the kids and then the boys created our own fireworks show off our dock, they did a fantastic job!

The whole next week was full of family, fun, friends and RELAXATION!!!  I'm going to let our pictures tell the story though, so enjoy!

Summer 2014

The Cowsers have been a busy bunch this summer!  Alyvia and Colson both did swimming lessons this summer.  Alyvia, as per usual, did fabulous and is a fish!  Colson surprised me so much, in a good way!  His class was only 3 kids and they each had a teacher, perfect for Cole.  He put his face in the water and did really well kicking his feet while on his belly, a big improvement from last year.  He even "jumped" off the diving board :)

Baby K was such a good sport during swimming lessons.  It was a long time for her to keep busy without getting in the water!

We also had to go uptown for Heritage Days!  The kids had fun on rides, watching some of the talent show and getting ice cream to end the evening!

We got to take the boat out at Oak Run once and play at the beach a couple of times too!

June was fast and fun and ran right into July!  Busy, busy, busy!

Play Ball!

Alyvia played her first year of softball this summer!  8 and under league is definitely for learning!  I am so proud of how hard Alyvia worked.  She wasn't afraid to try any position and she always had "can-do" attitude, so so so proud of that!

I think second base was where she played best-she even had a double play during their tournament when she caught a line drive! Batting was difficult, but were going to continue working on it and she'll be smackin' the ball next summer :)
Papaw working with Livi on her batting
Livi is one loved little girl....Uncle Chris and Uncle Shane both worked with her on her game this summer, Nana and Papa came to almost every game, Mamaw and Papaw came to quite a few games and Papaw helped her with her game too, Uncle Adam, Uncle Shane and Aunt Lindsey came to games and even her cousin Shelli came to her last game.  Seriously, our kids are so loved!  Liv had a great first season and I love watching her play!

Happy birthday Nana!

My mom's birthday was June 9th. I won't say how old she is now, but it was a milestone birthday :)  My brothers and I decided to host a surprise birthday party for her on the 21st.  Between me accidentally texting her about it (stupid group texting) and Alyvia's inability to keep a secret, I'm not sure how we pulled it off-but we did!

We had dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse-delicious!  Nothing huge, just family and a few friends, but it turned out to be a really nice evening.
She was really surprised!  She thought we were going out for my brother's birthday ;)

Crazy eyes selfie!

Mommy, give me the camera!

Mmmmm, baby loves her some cake :)

It was a great night celebrating my mom and we were so thankful to those that were able to join us!
